Wedding shoes guide

Wedding shoesAfter choosing your wedding dress, one of the most important accessories to choose will be your bridal shoes. It might seem a little detail as your dress may be long, but it will surely add a touch of glamour to your overall bridalwear. In order to select the perfect shoes to compliment your attire, you will have to consider several factors and not only the beauty of the pair of shoes. Here is our guide to help you choose the best you deserve for your special day!

What you need to consider for your bridal shoes

  • Choose comfortable shoes: your wedding day will be an extremely long day for you and you will have to keep the smile all day long. The most important thing here will be comfort. A gorgeous pair of shoes won't be necessary if you cannot even stand up and walk with them or dance! You will also have to avoid high heels if you are not used to it or if you feel that you will not endure the pain for the whole day.
  • A good tip is to wear your shoes several days before the wedding:  this will help to get used to them and break in the fabric. Also think about getting your shoes before the last fittings to try them on with the dress. This will give you the opportunity to change them if something is wrong.
  • Choose the right height for the heel: if you never dare to wear high heel shoes for any events, your wedding is certainly not the right moment to make this experience. Your shoes will have to be comfortable enough to walk easily and dance all through the night!  You will also have to consider is how tall is your fiance.
  • Wedding shoes width: the width of the heel is important as it will define your balance. The wider the width the more comfortable you will feel to walk. On the other hand, the thinner the width the more elegant it will look! The best would be to choose a medium width for high heel shoes.

  • Match your wedding shoe colour to your wedding gown: this might seem obvious but it's a basic advice.

  • ...or if you want to get noticed , you can also consider wearing coloured shoes!  In fact coloured wedding shoes is very trendy these days and many brands are having dyeable shoe line. If you like wedding gowns with a touch of colour, you could choose your bridal shoes as a complement of your colours. The choice of colour can also depend on your wedding theme, your bridal bouquet, your hairstyle etc.

  • Pay attention to the dress style: keep it simple if you have a well ornate wedding dress. Another good piece of advice is to balance accessories for your overall attire.

Our last advice would be to have two or three different pair of shoes during the day. You could have on for the ceremony that must be comfortable to walk with, another one to dance and according to your schedule, one to keep on dancing through the night!
