Several civil wedding venues in Northamptonshire have reported increased interest in bookings for the same day that Prince William and Kate Middleton have chosen to marry. Most of the venues usually require booking up to 18 months in advance, but many have seen a rush of people desperate for any date they can get around the 29^th April 2011. A royal wedding is always a good way of promoting a specific date, and the choice of a Friday means that many couples have a chance of booking a slot, as the majority of couples tend to marry on a Saturday.

A Swindon bride was promised a special carriage fit for a princess by her husband to be. The husband, who runs a skip hire company, took one of his skips, cleaned it out, laid it with carpeting and seats and added fairy lights to create a romantic atmosphere. The skip was even painted blue and covered in glitter.

The carriage-style skip comes complete with a roof so that it is suitable for weddings in all types of weather. The skip is designed to hold the wedding party and to transport them together to the reception.

The company has ensured that it is up to the required safety standards - it even has seatbelts!

Speculation about Kate Middleton’s wedding dress designer has been rife even before the Royal Engagement was announced. A surge of bets on one particular designer recently has caused bookmakers across the country to stop taking bets.

Bruce Oldfield has always been a popular choice. He is a favourite designer of Miss Middleton, but in the last few days he has gone from being a joint favourite to 1/3 favourite.

They fear that the official news has been leaked, as bets were being placed for £500 plus, thus raising suspicion that a private decision has been taken to appoint Oldfield and somehow leaked out to certain members of the public.
